Please be informed that the Annual General Assembly and Elections Meeting of the Members of the PCTC will be held on Thursday, August 18, 2016 at the Baccarat Room, Hilton Vancouver Metrotown Hotel, 6083 McKay Avenue, Burnaby, V5H 2W7 starting a 5:30PM for the following purposes:
- To receive and act upon the Report of the President;
- To receive and act upon the Report of the Treasurer;
- To elect the nine (9) members of the Board of Directors for the fiscal year 2016 to 2017; and
- To transact such other business as may properly come before the meeting.
During the Board of Directors meeting on June 13, 2016, an Election Committee has been identified composed of Mr. Michael Calingo, Mr. Wilbur Victoria and Ms. Laarni Liwanag to receive nominations from the members and to report the names of nominees to the PCTC members at the Assembly and Election Meeting. The Elections Committee was instructed to invite nominations for nine (9) members of the Board of Directors of the Council until the close of business hours of August 11, 2016 (Thursday) after which the nominations shall be closed. As per the Council’s new By-Laws, the duly elected Board of Directors shall elect the President and Vice-President in a separate Director’s Meeting to be held no later than 21 days from the date of the AGM/Election Meeting.
Only members in good standing as of August 11, 2016 shall be entitled to participate, vote and be voted for at the meeting. Membership for fiscal year 2016/17 must be valid, 2015/16 memberships expired as of June 30, 2016 and will need to renew to attend the meeting. PCTC is now accepting membership renewals/new members for fiscal year 2016/17. Members can pay their dues when they register for the Meeting or login to the website and renew (instructions will be sent in a separate email). Acceptance of new members is subject to Board approval.
If you are unable to attend in person during the scheduled General Assembly and Election Meeting, you can execute the accompanying Proxy Form to be duly signed and dated and sent to our office on or before August 12, 2016 (Friday), addressed to the PCTC Elections Committee. Click here to download the proxy form. Only persons with Proxies received (either by mail, fax or email) on or before August 17, 2016 will be entitled to vote at the meeting.
